Christmas and the environment

Well it has been an odd year to say the least and I for one will be looking forward to the upcoming break. Christmas will be different this year and it has definitely got me thinking about the environment and what an impact the season will have on it; all that packaging! So I thought, is it necessary or is there something I can do to minimise the impact. It may only be a small contribution but I decided not to buy wrapping paper this year and use coloured tissue paper that is recyclable. But I did worry that the children would not have the fun presents to unwrap so this was my compromise. I think it works, do you?
